Аннотация
The research presents a novel automated method for designing multi-spacecraft missions equipped with low-thrust electric propulsion for multiple target interception presented by the authors in a plenary report at the XII-th IAA Symposium «Space Flight Safety.» The developed approach enables systematic construction of mission sets and robust automated generation of limited-thrust trajectories based on impulse approximation techniques. The method employs an innovative task ladder approach consisting of sequential problem formulation in different mathematical models: (1) Lambert problem solutions, (2) Lagrange formulation, (3) ideally controlled thrust, (4) limited thrust optimization. This systematic progression allows for automated transitions between mathematical frameworks while maintaining trajectory stability and constraint satisfaction. The method successfully transforms complex multi-target interception problems, formulated as NP-hard moving-target traveling salesman problems, into computationally tractable automated trajectory generation systems. The approach guarantees convergence to feasible limited-thrust solutions through systematic approximation of optimal relay control strategies. Validation of the method was demonstrated in the 12th Global Trajectory Optimization Competition, where our software implementation in C++ of developed automated system successfully delivered 5354 kg of resources to the Earth using 12 spacecraft mining 74 different asteroids over a 15-year mission period.
